Picketing Hootie at a Hooters? nytimes.com

[ There are fanatics, and then there are people who have a side obsession with the way the NYT covers golf. For the latter group, there's this story. I will have to leave it to the "objective" peer review process of the warblogosphere to decide if this counts as #44 or not. Maybe there's a mystical connection between "The Gulf" and "golf" that I don't quite understand. Clip: ]

GREETINGS FROM HOOTERS!
Hello, Martha Burk:

Aside from the nearly imperceptible difference in suffix, this is also as geographically close to Hootie Johnson as you are going to find. Hooters is just two red lights from the gate, and a block past the Sassy Lady boutique (an alternate protest site, perhaps).

Also, as a bonus, you could free the Hooters waitresses from subjugation, or at least from their constricting T-shirts. (Breathing is fundamental.)

This joint certainly beats the ball field you've been eyeing over the railroad tracks on Eisenhower Drive. Dead-end street, dead-end message. If you want to be heard by the corporate Green Jackets who preach inclusion for millions of their employees but live exclusion, you should cozy up to the Hooters management. Remember: tip big.

Yours truly,
The Scout
