It is an intriguing idea. You would need to have a 'Vatican City' type solution for Jerusalem. With Jordan you could start the AMEFTA strategy (American Middle East Free Trade Agreement, in the end the only real sustainable peaceful solution).

Israel has a sense of national identity that makes American Patriotism seem introverted so I can't see them being happy as the Persian Hawaii.

The Tim McVeigh's of the US would have a hey day.
