Really it is quite insanely short-sighted, this effort to continue indefinitely operating in the old dark-alley fashion ... it won't work, because when things are deliberately hidden people tend to presume the worst, and rightly so, that is merely erring on the side of caution
In some ways we have an excellent setup here for a venture capital market, things like mineral reporting standards are well made and well enforced .... but the system is lacking some necessary things it should have had six or seven years ago when the technology made them possible .... from what i've seen of the US system it seems a little awkward, the filings of 144s etc, yet it is far superior to no system at all, and we could do a top-notch job in about three weeks here, starting fresh ... probably there are three dozen people right here on SI who could set up such a system, faster and cheaper and better |
