re: Why then all the posts here which are puzzling

==========

Greetings Chaz.

In the abstract, being for or against war is rather like being for or against air or the lunar cycle.

A rather curious question...

However, I believe we're about to make the greatest foreign policy blunder of my generation.

Perhaps the salient question is: Am I against the occupation and colonization of Iraq?

Indeed.

It's doomed to failure, and will horrifically exacerbate problems.

Bring democracy to the Middle East? It's a sound bite - not a serious proposal. It's synonymous with inviting Islamic militants to assume power.

The peripheral repercussions of maintaining Empire will erode our civil foundations and likely push our already tenuous economy - and in turn the global economy - over the brink into full fledged deflation or stagflation.

And like Viet Nam, we may search for years - through multiple administrations - to find an "honorable" exit.

*** I have no interest or intention in participating in a pissing match with anyone on these issues. I'm simply answering friend Chaz's query.
