< INTEL SAID that Inspired Broadcast Networks, in cooperation with Ericsson and itself, will create a huge Wi-Fi network in the UK with thousands of wireless stations all over the country.
Inspired has already started building the network, which it dubs The Cloud, and will link it to a national network of broadband connected games terminal in cooperation with BT Openzone.
The Cloud will pass over 250 locations in the UK by the end of April, Intel said, and will kick off with free trials services.
And it will start its service in "premium pub locations", already the "business lunch venue of choice in many parts of the country".
Pubs offer an informal environments for people to get drunk meet, said Russell Hoyle, the head of Leisure Link, a The Cloud partner. "As the pub fills up in the evening, Wi-Fi can also be used to link people up to gaming and entertainment services".
And as the customers fill up with beer, they will be able to use their Centrino notebooks to send snottograms to former enemies, lovers and bosses, we'll be bound. ....>

Ben, I know you said you didn't want a competition, but you know me, a rant opportunity can't be missed.
Colinisation Powell and Condominium Rice should be able to tame Iraq. The USA tamed and occupied Germany and Japan, simultaneously, with a bit of help from Kiwis, Oz, Poms, Indians, Lumberjacks and others. Then, not long later, took on China and Russia via Korea while holding the line in Berlin and across Eastern Europe. While shooting for the moon and building highways all over the USA. And a lot more besides.
Defeating Saddam, a hillbilly Stalinist-style thug is a joke. Half his family have been killed or terrified by him so I have no idea who will support him. Especially when their own lives are under little threat and no threat if they don't support him [other than from some closely-associated thugs of his who back him up in fear of their own necks].
He's not like an Islamic leader defending some commonly held ideology. He has no ideology except his own megalomaniac never-ending pursuit of power, palaces and pleasure [which has a sadistic foundation].
Your average Iraqi is a normal kind of human who wants a decent life, love and happiness. They know that the USA troops aren't going to kill all the men and rape all the women. This isn't an eons-old genocidal, tribal, DNA territorial takeover. Well, I suppose it is driven by the same atavistic impulses on both sides and there's a lot of oil involved, but like a game of footy, or an America's Cup race, the outcome is different from the old days of head-smashing, cannibalism, slavery and rape.
The honourable exit is to reconstitute the United Nations and toss Iraq to them as part of the new, all singing and dancing, United States of Freedom which will replace the bureaucratic, busy-body, no-hopers at the UN who get tied up to stakes while massacres go on, or have their tanks pushed aside by Israeli tanks, or ignore Rwanda while whining about genocide in Jenin [1 innocent person killed - perhaps innocent].
The Iraqis would be thrilled to be the centre of the New World. A 21st century would be born with hope, peace and prosperity from horizon to horizon, sea to sky and across the firmament. Saddam couldn't do it, but King George II, with Colinisation Powell and Condominium Rice can do it easy peasy.
We the Sheeple will love it! It's about bloody time ....
