RE:"The conclusion I would come to is that if someone has a problem with executive compensation - if they truly believe that they've been cheated out of money because that money has gone to overcompensating someone who doesn't deserve it, then there are proper channels to express that sentiment, and this forum is not one of them. I think yours or Carl's soapbox preaching does nothing to address any real problems"

Due to free speech it seems this forum is as good as any.

RE:"If not the board, then who should be the one to decide executive compensation? Should it be federally controlled? You tell me. But first tell me how you think the execs should be compensated. How do you decide fair compensation, anyway? Sounds like a controversial issue".

Ultimately the shareholder speaks. And he also is the low man on the totem pole. Shareholders should decide. It's a public company.

How should the executives be compensated? Salary. Perhaps a performance bonus but with a cap.
The idea that these guys are that much smarter than the rest of the people at Intel is a joke. No way should there be such a wide gulf between compensation of execs and say regular engineers.

As for the negativity of it.
Do you deny that it's negative?
