Actually, I disagree with the first premise. It's like ad-blocking, or similar. If you know that certain posters are never going to provide anything worth reading, then it just saves time to tune them out. They're still happy, because they can vent, but you don't waste time even glancing at their posts. It's especially efficacious when you know that their only motive for posting is to annoy or irritate, as is most certainly sometimes the case. After all, I wouldn't listen to the curse-strewn mouthings of a drunken tramp IRL... why read them here? LOL.
