Will there be collateral damage..... YES! This is about the potential for war & there is nothing that can guarantee ZERO collateral damage. Well their is one thing, but Saddam is obviously not going to disarm fully, completely & immediately.
Besides, SADDAM will make sure that innocent civilians die..... as many as he can........ I now hear he has plans to dress up his own troops in US & British uniforms & have them slaughter his own people to bring about negative press against the US & England.

This absolutely never was & never will be about Saddam's direct ties to 9/11. NEVER! NO ONE in the Bush Admin has EVER stated that their was any DIRECT involvement by SADDAM in 9/11...... NEVER! There have been presentations that clearly linked Saddam to terrorist organizations, including Al Qeada & the Palestinian suicide bombers ET AL. Does Saddam have links to terrorist organizations? ABSOLUTELY YES!! And I believe those who have made this information available, both from the US & several other countries.
And make no doubt about it. This is about more than Saddam's terrorist ties. It is also about his WMD programs & his 12 years of flaunting his nose at the cease fire agreement that included that he completely & immediately disarm & completely destroy ALL of his WMD programs. It is about the human rights atrocities he has committed & his willingness to use WMD even on his own people. It is about a ruthless madman who has started multiple wars of aggression & used WMD against his enemies. It is because Saddam has tried to assassinate Bush SR. It is because Saddam has been caught trying to commit terrorist attacks outside of his country.
In fact it is about so many horrific things that violate so many international & human rights laws that he flagrantly violates. It is clearly part of the war on terrorism & his blatant & relentless non-compliance with 18 UN sanctions & the original cease fire agreement from more than 12 years ago.
It isn't about one single disreputable premise. It isn't about some ever changing fictitious reasons that so many people like to use (one at a time) to discredit the real reasons for disarming Iraq by force if necessary. In fact, folks like you & Scott never want to discuss the REAL reasons EVER! You're all too busy discrediting your President with bullshit reasons that have no basis in fact.

Do you mean remove Saddam from power so that full, complete & immediate disarming of the WMD programs can be completed? I believe that Saddam has proven that as long as he is in power, there will NEVER be full, complete & immediate disarming of the WMD programs. More than 12 years of lies, deception & clear non-cooperation is irrefutable proof.
And if Saddam is killed in the process, I will not be saddened one bit, because IF that ever happens, it will mean that soon there will be an end to the potential for collateral damage to innocent Iraqi citizens. And it will mean an end to a clear & resent danger in the region & to US interests.
And it will send a clear message to other terrorist states globally that the US is serious about the war on terrorism. The message will be clear that the US is going to protect it's citizens no matter who gets pissed off in the process. And that is JOB #1 for the President of the USA

I'm willing to bet that France, Germany & Russia have more than a passing interest in seeing to it that we do not forcibly disarm Saddam. Why? Because I think these countries have a real fear that evidence of their complicity in supplying Saddam with the means to reconstitute his WMD programs after the Gulf war. This in addition to their vested interest in keeping those lucrative multi-billion dollar deals relating to Iraq's oil...... something that these vociferous countries will never admit publicly as they, like you, Scott & your peers participate in the use of clearly deceptive methods to discredit your President in order to protect their personal interests....... even if that means that many more soldiers may die..... and many more innocent US citizens die in future terrorist attacks.
And yes, I see that you, Scott & those like you are doing the same thing as France, Germany & Russia........ giving aid to the enemy to protect your real agenda.

Again, this is utter bullshit! Show me where the US or any of the coalition of the willing has any plans to intentionally slaughter the innocent? I submit that your President is making plans to make sure that as few innocent civilians will perish regardless of what Saddam does to place them in harms way. I believe that your President will be forced to place our servicemen in increased jeopardy of being killed to make sure that as few innocent civilians are killed as humanly possible.
And I firmly believe that no matter how many innocent civilians are accidentally killed in a war with Iraq, that the total will be but a fraction of a percentage of innocent Iraqi citizens who have been routinely slaughtered by Saddam.
