IS A POST WORTH READING CAREFULLY

Agreed.

Now where do I disagree. First I don't believe he understands the "lengths" Bush & Co will go to to remain in power. While I don't agree with JW that Bush's reelection is a foregone conclusion, you got to ask yourself if this country is dropping nuclear (make that nukular) weapons on N. Korea in late Oct '04, will people be frightened enough to do what they wouldn't otherwise. I use that as example of the terms in which you've got to think.

All we need is education (especially cross-cultural training and understanding) and sharing in common struggles to eradicate poverty, hunger, illiteracy and exploitation.

While containing a germ of truth, the phrasing belies a depth of understanding of the xenophobia of Islam. Under the best of circumstances this would be a multi-decade effort, and we will have far from ideal circumstances.

The culture of the world does not want to be reshaped in the mass-consumption consumerist model of America, nor is it in the interest of America for it to be, for such levels of consumption and waste would quickly strain the earth's carrying capacity.

As I said, there is much in this post that is of merit, and I particularly enjoyed this.
