American Spirit.....
Here's another example of the American Spirit from a email letter I shared with others on another thread:
This evening I attended a Patriot Act forum over at the Evanston Civic Center which was sponsored by the Evanston Human Relations Commission. I got an opportunity to speak and I shared this notion of order vs. disorder:

There were many well meaning individuals who spoke at the meeting, including panelists from the ACLU, the Lawyers Guild, Chicago Committed to Defend the Bill of Rights, and a professor from a local theological seminary. After the panalists several individuals spoke. In general, everyone was concerned, a good number were outraged and a majority seemed, at minimum, confused.
The last in the panel to speak was a veteran from WWII, Frank Hoover, who supported the concept of giving government "some latitude" and yet expressed great faith and confidence in "we the people's" right and power to roll back these bills when and if we saw fit. He said he was not at all concerned.
I endorsed Frank's sentiments. And I did so because I have this unshakable faith which comes from God in this "right order" which is something that HE and only HE is the author of. I shared my "disorder vs. order" pyramids which I had scribbled out on the back of a pink sheet of paper - one of dozens I had gathered from a table of handouts before entering Evanston's City Council Chambers.
I told everyone that "the right order" is when WE THE PEOPLE stand OPON the Constitution!!! And I emphasized the incredible gift that this concept of popular sovereignty was to mankind and the world. And you bet I DIDN'T hesitate to point out that GOD should be ON TOP!! And that MAN stands in unison and support to God right below Him. And that We The People STAND UPON THE CONSTITUTION which was designed to strickly outline the limited scope of the powers which our time, trust and energy we receive from God and are delegate to our servant government.
I emphasized to those in attendance that the more we are fearful, outraged and confused about what our government is doing the more we will feed and fuel this DISORDER that is attempting to limit, control and enslave us. This fear and confusion is the result of confusion over a phrase that echos one of Abbott and Costello's famous acts "Who's on First?" - Man or God.
The more we are confused about this the more we will falls for putting this or that institution, church, priest, pastor or president on a pedestal while they each get their turn at masquarading as an authority - ie. a/the controller of the Godhead.
