Right. That's important to mention - there's no "belief" involved, and the outcome could change any day. There could be a successful coup in Iraq tomorrow nullifying many previous scenarios.

The argument for not going in now essentially define a reallity in which war could never be fought - or at least no pro-active steps could be taken.

Nearly all countries of the world were siding with the USA in the Afghanistan war.

With these kinds of radical pathological killers - do you really think containment works - or does it simply breed more of them?

They have to be hunted which is tedious but works. Today an RAF terrorist, Sabine Callsen, went to police herself, nearly two decades after she performed a bomb attack. The "war on terror" requires a lot of patience.

The Israeli's have not had much luck with containment.

Each case has to be treated individually. Bush thinks that North Korea is best dealt with multilaterally - there's still a (small) chance that he finds it's best to extend this approach to Iraq.
