Yes, that's what I meant. That perceived "need" could be inherent or acquired in many different ways. It would include both "wretches" who couldn't make it through the day without a dose of "amazing grace" and competent, confident, and optimistic people who were simply trained at mom's knee to subsume themselves under God's umbrella, the Giver of confidence. For whatever reason, some people have the "need" and some people just don't. That's my observation. But it would be interesting to see a serious study of the matter.
