I know there's a lot of leakage, just as Europe has currently: but this is as nothing to the immigration that we would face if Turkey were part of the Schengen group.
But do you not concede that the US would see significantly higher immigration from the south if the border patrols were stopped and Mexicans given full leave to travel or settle in the US, without visas or other immigration controls? That is the situation now in the EU, for members - it's illegal to put restrictions up to stop a citizen of one country living and working in another (they're not guaranteed a job, of course...).
