I'm willing to admit that Bush's diplomatic brusqueness during the beginning of his term made his work more difficult for him and that the diplomacy could have been handled better. Still, I think Sullivan is at least 80% right here; any president trying to implement such a policy and get results would be hitting the same impediments, which are based on the nature of power politics in the world today.
