North Korea has the initial advantage of being able to inflict a tremendous amount of damage to S. Korea's vibrant economy before its attack is spent. However, N. Korea does not have the capacity for sustained war unless helped by the Chinese, which I doubt they'll get. If the N. Korean leadership is half-way rational, an open question, it must know that an all-out attack on S. Korea is the last thing it will do as it will ultimately get annihilated. Perhaps a sense of self-preservation will keep NK from going down war's slippery slope.
