this is personally anecdotal, and ONLY from MY personal discussions with US Army youngsters, perhaps 10,
and
two business folks
this group of perhaps a dozen total ...
and, again, I repeat this is anecdotal ONLY .. nothing firm and provable ....
ALL will only go BACK to SK under extreme duress
three of the Army guys did not re-up due to Korean duty ....
three are still in, but will get out
IF orders to return are issued and
IF
a) they can get out before going due to time left to serve
b) they can pull any strings to keep from going
c) IF they have to go, they will not re-up when time comes and IF they can, indeed, get out then
d) anything they can do <ggg>
the two business folks ..
will return
under NO circumstances ... NONE .. absolutely NONE....
the impelling and constant reason
is
that they ALL (Army and business) feel they are in harms way MORE from the SouthKorean PEOPLE than from the N Korean Army ....
they have been treated with the utmost disrespect/disgusting/demeaning/dangerous attitude from the PEOPLE of South Korea *(as a large percentage) ..
now, some of the SKs are good to them, but, overall MOST are not.....
this, again, is from just MY personal experience ...
I know two youngsters who are still there now ...
and one who was honorably discharged from the Army after spending 18months duty there, MasterSgt, I think, less than three months ago ....
S Korea was his reason for leaving the service ....
