Ever been to Canada or Australia? I think what you described above better fits those two countries than ours. They are extremely friendly and considerate. The U.S. is a great place to make a living. You can make a killing here. Making a killing and morality and considerate behavior don't always go hand in hand. But, I've found the U.S. to be pretty far down the list of all of those factors that you listed, especially considerate.

So where would you rather live all things considered? The US is a large target for criticism. Being the only Superpower and the world's defacto policeman is a role we came by mostly by default. I suspect we would be equally criticized if we were isolationist and deferential to Old Europe. And yes I've been to Australia and had a friend from there live with me in the US for several years.
