Is anyone here knowledgeable about tax prep software? Till now I've been a Luddite and handwrote all my trades on the D-1 form, which took many hours and much of my sanity. I was reluctant to use software because a friend had told me that programs like Quicken don't quite get the capital gains and wash sale rule for shorts. I've since been told that the 2003 version corrects that and that it should work fine in conjunction with either Tax Cut or Turbo Tax(which I've been warned has spyware!) In any case, can anyone confirm this and/or let me know if I need the basic or deluxe editions? I called Intuit directly and they gave me the old "we think so but can't guarantee it routine". BTW, the bulk of my trades are at Seibert which says their data is readily downloadable to Quicken. TIA--stevenallen
