The only small (non-google size) startups that I think have a chance right now are match.com and auctiondrop. I think I posted a SJ mercury article on auctiondrop, basically a mail boxes etc for ebay (so not a tech/internet company). Match.com doing well, thats quite a revenue model they have and you know when you're desperate..... you're willing to pay!!! <gg>

I've always thought ebay had a lot of potential with paypal that they haven't tapped. Thats the most exciting part of their business right now imo. I still think yahoo has a little more potential longterm than ebay fwiw.
