Beverly, while you may not need sophisticated software, your needs are really pretty "high-end". The things that you mention that you don't need don't really contribute to cost, except in the case where you are able to buy optional software. That is, the things you have mentioned don't affect the feed, just the software.
In the case of feeds where they give you the software, the software is the software. I beleive that you are paying mostly for the feed, anyway, so subtracting something from the software wouldn't reduce the price.
This is like trying to beat down the price of a car by saying "can I get it without the hubcaps and floor mats"? Well, yea, but it's not gonna get it for you much cheaper!
I'd suggest looking at Quotes Plus for end of day. (www.quotes-plus.com)
However, they don't do commodities, either. And, sorry, I don't think you'll find a cheap source of end-of-day data that does commodities.
In general, the real-time companies do real-time only, the end-of-day companies do end-of-day only. In most cases, you really do need two services. |
