Empire building indeed. Don't most of the leaders of their respective societies wish to be the ultimate empire builder? Saddam thinks he is the best answer to ME empire building. OBL wants to build an empire too, as does Kim Jung Il. Some people believe that GWB is an empire builder. If he is, I think he does it for the sake of America, and it's ideas. In the end they all think their empires would be the best empires. Isn't that what it is all about? Does anyone really believe that this most basic of human desire will disappear with successive generations? I say that is impossible. That there will always be men with huge ego driven aspirations to conquer the world, and that little people like us will be able to witness their conspiracies through the monitors on our desks, or the wireless computer in our hand.....at least most of us.
