RE: German ancestors DAK, I'd look at how many of them still speak German -- just 4%. That means they are Americans, they have completely lost all German stuff. Majority of them immigrated in the beginning of last century. Contrary to that if you for example look at people of Arab Ancestry. Over 51% speak a language other than English. census.gov even more so with Armenian. 57% census.gov Iranian 83.6% census.gov
