As I've noted to others who have this terrible itch for war in the Middle East, your whole case for war is based on nothing more than fear, speculation and a newly articulated preemptive war theory that opens the door for any nation to strike first--hardly an example of a nation showing leadership.

My opinion is shared by most people in the world, most governments in the world, virtually all religious leaders and and nobel laureates. And it certainly appears as if the United Nations Security Council shares this view too.

You're essentially standing with a British leader who does not have the support of his people, an Italian leader who does not have the support of his people, a Spainish leader who does not have the support of his people and Bush whose adminstration has directly lied to the American people, deleted key parts of intelligence documents, relied on both outdated and plagerized information and embarked on a propganda campaign that rivals Saddam's own.

Bush's support in America consists of his political base of a fundamentalist religious Christian rightwing coalition, the national pro-gun lobby, corporations that'll benefit from the policy, and hardliner zealots who forcefully advocate on behalf of Israel. With this comes an intense public relations and propaganda campaign specifically aimed at drawing as much support as it can from middle Americans, most of whom have genuine concerns.

It was faked and inaccurate information that led Congress to approve a pro-war resolution just prior to the elections and that vote should be rescinded due to the falsehood of the information provided by this administration.

Just recently National Republican Committe polling showed that 52 percent of Republicans now oppose this war. Unfortunately, for the fate of many, Bush will quickly pull the war trigger to attempt to bring the support he is losing back behind him, as people will naturally support our troops in the field of battle.

Bush is using the American people, he's using our sons and daughters who'll fight this war and he's using the victims of Saddam Hussein who'll become his fodder, as it'll be they who'll suffer the most losses of family, friends and neighbors from this war. And, yes, it is a fact that he's about to launch a slaughter on a population that is 42 percent comprised of children under the age of 15.
He's divided the world deeply in the process of prosecuting this war and it'll be even more gravely divided in the aftermath. Yes, Hawkmoon, you and he will have helped to spawn a hatred upon America never before seen. If you're proud of this, good luck with your dreams. I know Bush ain't gonna like his, as he becomes forced to live in the aftermath of the above.
