Huh? You may be the most partisan individual I've ever met (if 'met' is the right word in this context).
There's not doubt to me that Ted's pretty partisan, but how many people who post here aren't? And to say he's the most... does the tagline on a certain person's posts, "the liberal mind is a terrible thing," mean anything to you?
This dispute over partisanship is funny. In the West, I don't think the parties are quite as far apart ideologically as they appear to be out East......at least not in the big cities. Furthermore, candidates here typically don't promote their party affiliation like they seem to do out East. I didn't know until halfway through his campaign that Richard Riordan [the former mayor of LA] was a Republican. And frankly, it didn't occur to me to find out......the philosophical differences between he and his opponent were not that great. I voted for him because he seemed to be the best candidate for the job. I voted for him a second time because he did do a good job during his first term. I think placing so much emphasis on party affiliation as Harris and Ray do leads to not getting the best possible person for the job.
And its funny.......Ray and Harris and the other Reps. are such dyed in the wool party members that they think my support of Clinton is equally kneejerk. That couldn't be further from the truth. I didn't vote for Clinton the first time he ran because I didn't think he was strong enough to be president, coming from a small southern state. I also thought Bush Sr. didn't do such a great job either his first term, and so, I ended up voting for Perot.
However, after one term, I became impressed with Clinton....it looked like he had grown into the job......and so I voted for him when he ran a second time.
My point is that I am an independent with liberal leanings, and I definitely don't relate to either party yet the GOP smucks on this thread like to hang that sign on me. That allows them not to have to think about what I am saying which may prove to screw up their view of Bush. I don't think they have a clue how bizarre Bush's behavior is and how far off the mark he seems to be.
Hate Bush? There's not enough there to hate. However, from a non partisan perspective, I think he is the worst disaster to hit this country in maybe 30 years or more.
