>>You really feel that Iran's brutal dictators care about the gassing of their own people?<< Yes I do, and I find your opposite conclusion completely unbelievable.

Furthermore, the Iranians sent Bush a clear signal that they'd like to work with him to eliminate Hussein. Anyone familiar with the history of the region and the people who live there would recognize the opening given by the Iranians. I would remind you that throughout history, working with neighboring people in the area has been the time tested formula for success in bringing about a change in leadership. That's the way it's done in the Middle East, and has been done that way for more than 1000 years. To go headstrung into war irrespective of the alternatives is simply stupid. And more and more people around the world are beginning to realize that fact and are saying something about it.

Finally, to those who think a large contingent of UN inspectors is worthless, do you think that all these people poking around military and other installations are going to make it easier for Hussein to launch ANY attack, whether with conventional weapons or weapons of mass destruction? Whether you think the inspectors are effective in searching for outlawed weapons, they certainly are effective in making it difficult for Hussein to launch any kind of attack, even on areas dominated by Kurds. He's completely neutralized, and he doesn't get any sympathy at home, except from his own family and cronies.

Meanwhile, there's a guy in North Korea who's really creating problems, and the U.S. just sits there and does nothing. Strange.
