I don't want to be medicated, let's just keep an eye on it, I said.

I've had borderline HBP for about twenty years. I fought against taking any pills for fifteen of them, insisting I could control it with diet and exercise. Finally gave up about five years ago when I turned into a couch potato and realized that diet and exercise were not likely to be my savior any time soon.

But I'm back into exercise mode now and, the last time I saw my doctor, she proposed that, the next time I came in, I stop the medication and see how it goes. I just haven't gotten around to seeing her yet, but I'm looking forward to discontinuing the meds.

I tell you this so you will know that starting BP meds is not necessarily a slippery slope or a surrender.

BTW, are you familiar with this artist?

Thanks for the link. I had never heard of her. That's funny because I once looked into getting my own domain and saw that kholt.com was already taken but for some reason it never occurred to me to see what was there. I sort of like her style.

I don't really get why you spend time on it.

Now that you mention it, I don't either.

For some reason it's stuck in my craw that people can engage in whatever absurdities they want as long as it's under the umbrella of the dominant religion and they're above reproach even though similar absurdities in another context would evoke derision.

Also, it really nags at me whenever I find something that I just can't understand no matter how I try. That's just my temperament.
