ok so take out Saddam Hussein then... but when to do it- right when the country is coming off the bubble with the weakest recovery in years?

Here's what I think- Bush misgauged the diplomacy situation. He didn't think the UN would give him any trouble. He thought he could get Turkey support. When the reality set in, too late- he had already professed that we were "goin it alone!!" and there was no way out. Now we are forced to pay billions for Turkey, and put the country in real danger of a double dip. Bad diplomacy, bad timing that is my issue with Bush.

He could have waited until next year. Waited until all the states tax increases got absorbed, waited until we had a decent recovery and people were working. Instead we have a war stalemate, HUGE deficits and no recovery, in the face of large tax increases. I will be very surprised if Bush is reelected at this point.
