The handoff is at the phone. One side is 1x RAN ansi 41 core network, the other side is GSM RAN gsm-map core network. Doesn't such a capability dictate replacing the minimal amount of infrastructure?

You might be right about it never happening, but for a carrier like Unicom, it would be the ultimate in voice handoff. As Eric noted, data is a whole other ballpark.

Am I nuts?
