If another person posts an article on Iraqi torture of its own people, it illicits a near "so what" from you.

You cite "But Saddam tortures Iraqis!" to support your case to invade Iraq. That is a very weak justification, an excuse for a path already planned for various other reasons. That is what I have pointed out repeatedly.

I posted this article, because I thought it would be of interest to people who have argued here about the use of torture (or lack thereof) on Guantanamo prisoners. It is rather significant that their death was first announced to be of "natural causes" and then we hear about this "blunt force injury" crap that is basically "Torture".

I thought you guys would be interested in hearing how your administration is conducting torture in your name, and lying to you - one of the two tortured men was previously said to have died of a heart attack, and the other of pulmonary embolism.

Torture is unforgivable regardless of its perpetrator. I resent your suggestion that I am against the US doing the torture but do not mind when Iraq does it.

My point was that the brutal nature of Saddam's regime is not a good enough reason to invade Iraq, kill thousands of Iraqi civilians, commit to years of difficult rebuilding and juggling of hostile forces in the region, almost certainly leading to higher level of recruitment for the terrrorists as a result. Especially at a period when Egypt and Turkey, notorious perpetrators of systematic torture, are among US buddies.

At least the U.S. admits that the suspects died

And Saddam denied that the Kurds he gassed have died? What are you talking about? How does that make it any better????
