I don't think that anyone wants to think the unthinkable :)

It's a feeling like the nasdaq bubble popping, everyone knows it's coming but they don't know when or how bad it would be.

My original thought a few years back was that defaults would rise to the point where they couldn't be ignored anymore leading to tighter lending standards and destroying the housing pyramid (no more lower end buyers to purchase their way up on the housing chain). Others were speculating that FNM would blow up. Maybe a combo of both will happen, who knows.

IF the housing market DOES tank. All bets are off, better start digging your bunker now, bring your duct tape :)
