"Some simply value tolerance and don't want to be among the prejudiced." Hopefully everyone who does not want to be among the prejudiced, values tolerance. "I disagree with you that the meaning of the word has been corrupted. Maybe I just haven't been paying attention, but I don't recall seeing the word misused. I agree that PC is corrupt, but I don't think anyone claims PC is about tolerance. It's about sensitivities. It is frequently misused. You cannot ask a question or point out a flaw without being accused of being intolerant. Unless you direct your pointer at the majority. People use the word with regards to dealing with Saddam for goodness sake. The man got 100% approval rating. That could either mean that people believe in him more than any human being who has ever lived, since no free thinking group of people have ever given anyone 100% approval; or, it means that the fear of expressing disapproval is at the level of "life threatening." Why could people possibly have this kind of life threatening fear? Maybe because he lines women up in the market place for a public beheading. No arrests, no trial, just some accusation that they may have suggested dignified roles for women in society. Maybe because he forces parents to watch him disembowel their children. Maybe because he kills in-laws after inviting them to his castle for a loving reconciliation. Maybe because he gasses villages of his citizen/enemies. Personally I don't tolerate that kind of behavior when I have any influence about it. Do I seem prejudiced to you...can you see why I think the term has been corrupted?
