Personally I don't tolerate that kind of behavior when I have any influence about it. Do I seem prejudiced to you...can you see why I think the term has been corrupted?
LOL. Jewel, the notion of "tolerating" Saddam's behavior is absurd. We were talking about tolerating what is odd, not dangerous. Do I need to link back for you? No, I can't see from that example why you think the term has been corrupted. I think your example is way out in left field.

Being more afraid of name calling than the integrity of one's actual character is being bullied.

That's not an either-or, Jewel. When someone accuses you of intolerance, you reflect on what you have said or done to see if the name-caller is on target. Sometimes the name-callers has a point, as they did in the "imaginary friend" matter. I think that that reflection is central to the integrity of one's character.

Now, OTOH, if you are cowed by a name-caller when the accusation is out of line, then that reflects poorly on your character as well.

There's no pride in being either intolerant or a wimp.
