I do disagree. His argument, obviously, is based on his liberalism, as he presented no basis for the position.

Oh...but he did....and there is nothing liberal about what he said. He never said we shouldn't go. He showed with facts and solid logic that Iraq is NOT a threat to the US and that Saddam is effectively contained. Hence the mission is regime change, and that is a matter for the UN, not the US alone. So doing this through the UN is not to cede anything...it is the proper and wise way to proceed. To do it outside the UN means that the US alone will own the reponsiblity of what follows. If it is a quagmire, the nations who did not support us will be more than happy to disavow any accountability and obligation to help. Those who were browbeat into supporting us will be no more on the hook (nor capable...after all we are talking about a bunch of nations with limited means).

He reasoned quite correctly that Bush is trying to hustle the nation and the world.
