Says you. And Tom Friedman, and most other liberals. Others are not so quick to give the UN veto power over our foreign policy.

Throughout the speech, Friedman showed that he, like many of us, are conflicted about the war. Nowhere is it more evident than in this context. He makes it clear in the column ted posted (which was part of the speech) that bringing democracy to Iraq is essential to eliminate the so-called "undeterrables" -- those who would attack us as on 9/11. Yet, he feels we should allow the Chirac's of the world veto power. I respect Friedman greatly, but there is major inconsistency in this point.

If it is a quagmire, it is our quagmire regardless. This isn't an issue.
