I don't know. I think days to enter a steeper phase that will terminate in capitulation. How long it would take to reach a support that will hold, I have no idea. Probably will depend on non-economic news quite a bit on this cycle.

I saw that post (yesterday?) that linked to an SPX chart in Euros; this made me feel less certain about how low we might go at this point before a real bear market rally. I have to think about it some more to figure out whether I think that we should be looking at a non-dollar denominated chart,rather than what we're used to..

It does make some sense in light of dollar's unusual weakness; but then again, I don't think most US investors value equities in anything but the dollar.

I think that temporarily, an adjustment in the value of the dollar may prop up US equities by making them cheaper to foreigners, but I think there is a limit to this sort of realignment.
