They should of course be protected from mass murder (I don't know if the crime would rightfully be called genocide but if you consider homosexuals to be a nation, tribe, ethnic group ect. , then they should also be protected from genocide). But the law doesn't seem to me to be about genocide but rather speech. Apparently it already applies to certain ethnic or racial groups. Can you get arrested in Canada for using an ethnic slur or wearing a t-shirt with a racist slogan? If the amendment passes will you be able to say "I don't like homosexuals", or "homosexual activity is sinful" without facing prosecution? I don't know. My knowledge of Canadian law is minimal. Peter Stock seems to imply that there is a danger of such arrests and prosecutions happening. Perhaps he is wrong. Tim
