I think the capture of Bin Ladin's sons was more a media event meant for a US audience, than an actual reality. If you go back and examine the news just prior to the UN Security Council meetings there's more than a few sensational stories.

I think the best setup was when they had Powell present to the UN, then Bush and Powell do the joint press conference the following day and then the elevation to the higher terrorist alert status, this fully expecting Blix and ElBaredei were going to deliver a negative report. All that tablesetting went for waste given the inspectors pointed out that Iraq was not in non-compliance.

So now here we are near another vote, and, hey, whow, whatta ya know, Saddam's a bigger bogeyman than he was before; the Al Qaeda terrorist of whom we already took credit for killing back in September of 2002, is now suddenly captured and his tryant thug of a photographed spread far and wide (anyone else think it was nice that they filmed his apartment after they tore it apart, thus giving the appearance that not only did he look like a slob but he lived like one); and, lo and behold, for sure, the oil wells are now explosive rigged; Al Qaeda's gonna blow up the Saudi primary oil fields; and Iran's now almost nuclear and primetime for America's next war push forward.

I swear, there's no fear they won't think up in order to avoid Bush having the same kind of problem Tony Blair is having in Britian, where 80-90 percent of his constitutents oppose his and Bush's want for war. Indeed, this administration will do anything to keep its domestic base intact and will champion any ability that'll draw in a little bit of the middle-roaders.

So, did they catch his sons? Is the Number Three terrorist really dead or really captured? Were there really Iraqi agents passing paperwork to buy radioactive goods from South Africa? Did Saddam kick out the weapons inspectors or was Bush just saying that to drum up and shore his base? And there's much more, except I've gotta go now and change the cat litter--lol!
