before you try to point out that US "condemed" Iraqi use of chemical weapons, read the whole paper. For Reagan this was a public relations issue and not a matter of principle

The Iraqi use of gas was publicly known. Early or mid-eighties I remember reading quite lengthy article in, I think, Forbes, but it might have been Barrons, that said the US should not be doing business with a regime that would gas its own people.
