It is faulty reasoning.

Yes...I know. The world is mad and Bush is right.

Why wouldn't it be a matter for both the US and the UN.

The US is a member of the UN, so by definition it is a matter for the UN and US, and every other member nation.

When you consider how inept the UN was in Rawanda and Bosnia, why would anyone think the US won't shoulder most of the burden here anyway.

The US is a member of the UN. If the UN is inept at any given issue, then the US has failed as well, as has every nation that belongs to it. Since the US is such a dominant member, then it shoulders most of the blame. It is no reason to fail again. Also, remember 1991.

and that GW's primary purpose is regime change.

Exactly...and that's illegal, not to mention the can of worms it represents. I don't want to write a long paragraph on this. If you don't get it by now, you never will.

In fact it was enforcement of those resolutions, which caused the rise of Al Qaeda.

Partly true...America has been on the questionable side of fairness in the Middle East for many years. Support for regimes just as repressive as Iraq's for reasons of convenience breed resentement towards an America seen as opportunitistic one day and a pillar of "morality" the next. Don't make go through a history lesson.
