TO ALL: I don't know a) who Emile is b) what he is out to prove c) or why d) but he is: z) either a "duper" y) or has been duped x) or both
I went to the library to check out his Thirteen Tribe book by Arthur Koestler. It wasn't available, but they finally procurred it from a neighboring library.
For all of Koestler's literary ability, the following should be noted:
On page 16 it is acknowledged as a hypothesis. Koestler's sources are weak at best.
In the back of the book ABOUT THE AUTHOR it is damning. I quote: "Like many other intellectuals in the thirties, Koestler saw in the Soviet experiment the only hope and alternative to fascism. He became a member of the Communist Party in 1931, but left in disillusionment during the Moscow purges in 1928...after World War II, Mr. Koestler became a British citizen..."
In reading this book I found it: a) totally inconclusive b) at best, a hypothesis---certainly nothing to "build ones faith" on.
