Tech Guy: My evaluation demonstrates that Novell has the superior Networking solution, meeting both our short term and long term goals while ensuring high-reliability to the end-users. Purchasing Guy: Did you see those lizard skin shoes on the Microsoft Guy, boy those are slick. He owns one of those Big Bertha clubs y'know. Tech Guy: Excuse me..??? Purchasing Guy: Never mind. Will Microsoft's stuff work with our network? Tech Guy: It's certainly compatible, but there are some concerns I have... Purchasing Guy: What do you mean? I use Excel everyday! It works Great! We have Microsoft on our P.C.s I want Microsoft on our network servers. Besides I'm being evaluated on my vendor reduction strategic thrust initiative. Case closed. Bottom Line It's the marketing, stupid!
