<Its interesting that the liberals among us oppose a moral case for war and in effect support a dictator.>
Straw man.
Most of the people who are marching against Iraq2, and most of the governments who will vote against us at the UN, supported the war on Afghanistan. Because they saw that as a just war, a moral war, a defensive response to 9/11. And they don't see Iraq2 that way.
Nobody in the Dove camp supports Saddam, or Kim either. 99% of us would be quite happy to see both out of power. And I, for one, have posted long detailed descriptions, of what I see as the correct methods to remove evil people from power. You may not agree with my alternative methods, but it is simply false to say the Doves have no alternative methods. It is simply false to say our position is a quietist surrender to evil.
I am against Iraq2, because I think a U.S. conquest and colonization of Iraq helps the terrorists. When I read the NeoCon speaches and position papers, colonization is what I see their goal as. I see the WarOnTerrorism as a guerrilla war, and so I measure success, not by the ground we conquer, but our success at HeartsAndMinds. I oppose the NeoCon policies, because I want to win the WarOnTerrorism, and I don't think their methods have any chance of working. |
