OT: Johnny Cash, Hurt

Since I just found this nugget at Reason's Hit and Run blog, I thought I would pass it on. Johnny Cash, produced by Hip Hop's megaproducer Rick Rubin, covers Nine Inch Nail's Hurt. It is the most astonishingly beautiful song I have heard in many years. The video is poetic genius. Cash shows a personal courage too painful to watch and joyously inspiring.

Sorry for the diversion. Back to regularly scheduled programming.

Have You Got Ears?
I preface the following by noting that you can find Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, and even some David Allan Coe in my music collection. I regard Johnny Cash as one of the most unique and important performers of the past century, and believe his cover of Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt" and the accompanying video to be perhaps the most powerful and poignant work of the past year.
