the Communists have begun openly recruiting college students like you to participate in illegal acts, designed to disrupt the lives and empty the pocketbooks of ordinary Americans. All of this took place last Wednesday with the tacit approval of many Stanford professors - a full two dozen cancelled their classes in support of the demonstration, and, according to the protest organizers, a full sixty pledged their support.
I gotta call that a stretch, PROLIFE- -a big one. College kids missing one day of classes isn't going to destroy the nation. In fact, this sort of thing is done WITH COLLEGE SPONSORSHIP. When I was in engineering school, one day of classes was cancelled to allow rushing of tau beta pi, the national engineering fraternity. Somehow the nation survived.

BUT: Are leftists behind the war opposition? OF COURSE. We all know that. Most of the crowd here are The Usual Suspects. They screamed and yelled about Bush during the 2000 election fiasco. They predicted the end of the Republic. They opposed the use of force against Afghanistan. They played that "graveyard of great empires" theme song at us. Funny, they seem to have forgotten that. Now they tell us the ME and the entire world will rise against us if we take on Iraq.

I think the accuracy of their past predictions should be taken into account before paying them any heed.

Are some of them Communists? Probably. All? No.
