oil will not last forever, and that is no science fiction.

It may last longer than we think. I was reviewing an engineering report for a small oil field in the Williston Basin and it stated quite matter of fact the field would be depleted by 1981. The oil field shows no sign of expiring and is producing almost as much oil as when it was first discovered in the 1950's. Something is recharging the field and the same is happening to many wells in the Gulf of Mexico and elsewhere. There appears to be enough oil for the next several hundreds of years.
