To be honest, I'm not sure I've ever had a political conversation with a black person, let alone a southern black person, and it represents that to me. There is no reason it should. Why would a flag signify those things? I normally assume flags represent states or former states. It's funny- I wouldn't have ever thought I'd be having this argument- I didn't realize until a couple of years ago that anyone still flew that flag. I suspect you're not in the South.
