yeah, I agree with you on the points you made. I'm planning for my retirement based on an average annual 7% rate of return, which I think I can get with the combination of stocks (all categories), bonds, real estate, convertibles, etc. So I keep thinking my estimates should be pretty much on the mark.

I really think that if we can get this war started or Saddam resigns then things will start to pick up again. The only other big if is whether we see another big terrorist hit or not. That will tank things for awhile too.

But what I really worry about is stagflation. Deficit spending and low growth makes that a big possibility.
