IMO, there was no response that the US could have done that
would not have resulted in those fanatics either seeing us
as weak or as invading infidels & used whatever response we
made as a reason to commit more terrorist atrocities. It's
just that simple. History is replete with evidence to
support this! Well, I can think of one response that would
have pleased them. We could have passed a law forcing all
citizens to become Islamic fundamentalists. <NG>
BTW, in your quest to understand, have you ever considered
that this is a two way street? Why is it that we must
always bend to the will of others, but you NEVER demand
they understand us? And like death by a thousand cuts,
we are changed & our rights are taken away & our freedoms
are lost? Please refrain from the urge to tell me about our
neo-con heritage of forcing our will, blah, blah, blah,
either.

allegedly have equal rights, but this political correctness
bullshit & all that we must understand our Islamic
brothers, & our African American brothers, & this group &
that group only takes rights away from some while giving
more rights to others. It is by no means equal rights for
EVERYONE!!!
Funny how all this need to understand, political
correctness crap leaves out certain groups who are asked to
do all the understanding!?!?!?! I NEVER see anyone of you
folks stand up & state unequivocally that all of those
groups you so fiercely defend also need to understand that
EVERYONE has the same rights & we ALL need to understand
EVERYONE's rights! And if you are going to slaughter
innocent civilians for whatever reasons, there are going to
be serious repercussions no matter where you are.
