<< Thirty-six percent of those polled said Stalin did more good than bad for the country, >> Doesn't surprise me. In developed countries, with good health care, and less pollution, the rate of mental impairment is a lot less than in the lessor developed nations. Judging by Russia's past, their level of mentally defective people is probably somewhere around 27%. But, even so, you cannot deny the significant contributions to Iran, made by the Shah. He really was a great leader. He has been unfairly judged because of his harsh treatment of his political enemies. But...... look at what he had to work with? His political enemies took over, after he left, and turned Iran into a violent, dangerous, backward culture of Muslim fundamentalism. The Middle East needs more Shahs and less crazy Muslim fundamentalists. |
