The way I see it, the Syrians and Lebanese did not want to set a precedent, as Isra'El would have loved, and to jump on and exploit, for the taking in of the refugees of Zionism's ethnic cleansing of Palestine for the "Jewish" state.

It is the Arab's position to have the Palestinians returned to their land as per International Law.
